We were suppost to have a 7:00am induction but were pushed back to 1:00 pm. We were tired of waiting by the time we got to the hospital but so excited to get get to meet our little one soon!
After arriving at the hospital we had about an hour of monitoring and around 2:00pm they broke my water. After a few hours of labor we were still at 4cm. After getting an epidural we went from 4cm to 9cm in one hour and before we knew it we were pushing and face to face with our little one. Travis and I were both shocked to have a baby GIRL sitting right in front of us. It was an amazing surprise though. At 8:43pm May 10, 2010 Ava Sue Goedken was born.

We got discharged from the hospital Wednesday morning and time has been flying ever since! Ava is already one week old! We have had lots of visitors and time with family. Ava was a smidge jaundice upon leaving the hospital so we have been busy keeping up with her feedings and making sure to keep that under control. So far everything is going well. Travis and I are both adjusting to life with less sleep and right now just trying to take it a day at a time and enjoy the newborn stage. As I've heard a million times the first year flys by and they grow so fast.
